1. Acceptance
By installing and using Vaultix you accept these terms. If you don't agree, uninstall the app.
2. What Vaultix is
Vaultix is a password manager with zero-knowledge encryption offered by Vaultix (hereinafter "we") based in Valencia, Spain.
3. Account and responsible use
3.1 PIN and passwords you control
- Your PIN, master password and family vault passphrase are your responsibility. We have no technical way to recover them if you forget them.
- If you forget them and don't have the Recovery Kit, your data will be inaccessible. It's the consequence of the zero-knowledge model — not a design decision we can relax.
3.2 Permitted use
- Vaultix is intended for personal and family use. If you want to use it in a company with >5 accounts, contact us for an appropriate plan.
- You may not: reverse-engineer the client to extract Firebase keys, attempt to access other users' vaults, or distribute modified versions of the app.
3.3 Minimum age
13 years and older. Minors require parental consent.
4. Free Plan and Vaultix Pro
4.1 Free Plan
Includes the features described on the App Store page. Unlimited in time and requires no card.
4.2 Vaultix Pro
Auto-renewing subscription managed by Apple via StoreKit. Current plans and prices are shown inside the app before purchase confirmation.
- Billing: when the chosen plan activates. Renewals are charged 24h before the current period expires.
- Cancellation: at any time from Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; there is no prorated refund for the unused portion.
- Refunds: managed by Apple under their refund policy (reportproblem.apple.com). We have no technical capacity to process them directly.
4.3 14-day trial without card
The trial is local to the device. We do not link your identity to the trial. Once expired, you lose access to Pro features but your local data is preserved. It can only be activated once per device.
5. Sync Service
5.1 What we promise
- Reasonable Firebase service availability (best-effort, no contractual SLA on the free plan).
- Your ciphertext stored correctly and delivered exactly as you uploaded it.
- Complete deletion within 24 hours of your request.
5.2 What we do NOT promise
- Recovery if you lose your master password — it's impossible by design.
- 100% availability (Firebase has occasional incidents that affect our app).
- Eternal compatibility with old app versions — Vaultix versions older than 12 months may lose sync support.
6. Family Vault
- Family vault items are visible to anyone who knows the Vault ID and passphrase. You decide whom to share them with.
- If a member is no longer trustworthy (divorce, emancipated child, etc.), the owner must rotate the passphrase — generate a new one and redistribute it to remaining members. It's a conscious decision, not automatic.
- We cannot force the removal of a member from our side — the model is honest: if they know the passphrase, they can read.
7. Delete your account
You can delete your sync account from Settings → Cloud sync → Delete my account. This deletes:
- Your Firebase Auth document
- Your encrypted blob from Firestore
- Your local sync credentials
What is NOT deleted: your local device vault (it's yours, not ours). If you want to delete it too, uninstall the app.
8. Intellectual property
- The Vaultix client code is proprietary licensed.
- Icons, brand and design are property of Vaultix.
- Your vault and its contents are ENTIRELY YOURS. We claim no rights over what you store.
9. Limitation of liability
- For security breaches on our side: if we demonstrate gross negligence (stolen keys, code exposed externally, etc.) we assume liability limited to the maximum permitted by Spanish law. In practice the zero-knowledge model minimizes this as much as possible.
- For breaches on your device: if your iPhone is compromised (jailbreak, malware), your vault may be read. Not our responsibility.
- For data loss due to forgetting your PIN or master password: not our responsibility. The Recovery Kit exists precisely to mitigate this.
10. Changes to the terms
If we change these terms, we will notify you inside the app before they take effect. If you disagree with the changes, you can delete your account and uninstall the app.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Valencia, unless the consumer law of your country of residence establishes another mandatory jurisdiction.
