Android"Save to Vaultix" doesn't appear after signing in to Chrome

Chrome has its own built-in password manager that shows its own "Save password" dialog ON TOP OF the Android AutoFill Framework. This happens with ALL third-party managers (Bitwarden, 1Password, Dashlane) when using Chrome — not specific to Vaultix.

How to fix it (1 minute):

  1. Open Chrome → menu Settings
  2. Go to Password Manager
  3. Tap the ⚙️ icon top-right
  4. Disable "Offer to save passwords"

From now on, Chrome stays out of the way and Android will trigger Vaultix's save flow correctly.

iOS"Save to Vaultix" doesn't appear after signing in on Safari

Apple doesn't allow third-party managers to intercept form save events in Safari — only iCloud Keychain receives them. The same happens with Bitwarden, 1Password, Dashlane: none can bypass this limitation. That's why Vaultix ships its own Action Extension to work around it.

How to save from Safari:

  1. After signing in, tap the Share button in Safari
  2. Pick "Save to Vaultix" in the action row
  3. Vaultix reads the form automatically and shows the fields prefilled
  4. Confirm and the credential is saved in your vault

If you don't see "Save to Vaultix" in the share menu, scroll to the end of the action row, tap "More" and enable it.

iOSHow do I enable Vaultix as my password manager on iOS?

On iOS 26 or later:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Tap Default
  4. Tap Passwords
  5. Select Vaultix

On iOS 17 and earlier: Settings → Passwords → Password Options → Allow Filling From: Vaultix.

Once enabled, Vaultix auto-detects the state — the green "Activated" badge appears in the vault header.

AndroidHow do I enable Vaultix as my autofill service?
  1. Open system Settings
  2. Go to System → Languages & input → Autofill service
  3. Select Vaultix

On Xiaomi/Redmi (MIUI), Huawei or Oppo/Vivo: you also need to allow "Show pop-up windows while running in background" in Vaultix's advanced permissions, or the system blocks the save flow.

MIUI path: Settings → Apps → Vaultix → Other permissions → Display pop-up windows while running in background.

GeneralWhere are my passwords stored?

By default, only on your device, in a database encrypted with AES-256-GCM and SQLCipher. The encryption key is derived from your PIN with PBKDF2 (210,000 iterations) and never leaves the device.

If you turn on cloud sync (optional, in Settings), your vault is end-to-end encrypted before uploading to our servers. Neither Vaultix nor anyone else can read its content.

GeneralI forgot my PIN. Can I recover my passwords?

If you have cloud sync enabled: on the lock screen, tap "Forgot PIN" → "Restore from cloud". After entering your Vaultix cloud account, the vault is restored.

If you do NOT have cloud sync, passwords are unrecoverable — it's the price of the zero-knowledge model: we have no way to read them. That's why we recommend printing the Recovery Kit right after creating your PIN (Settings → Recovery Kit) and storing it somewhere safe.

GeneralDoes Vaultix work offline?

Yes. Normal use is 100% offline: unlock, autofill, generation, audit, reading and editing items.

Only these need a connection:

  • Cloud sync (if you enable it)
  • Breach detection against HaveIBeenPwned (an anonymous hash fragment is sent, never the password)
  • App updates
GeneralCan I import passwords from Bitwarden, 1Password or other managers?

Yes. In Settings → Import / Export, Vaultix accepts:

  • Bitwarden (CSV or JSON)
  • 1Password (CSV)
  • Google Passwords (CSV)
  • Apple iCloud Keychain (CSV)
  • Any CSV with standard headers (name, login, password, url, notes)

We also export to CSV, JSON and PDF (with optional encryption for CSV/JSON).

GeneralWhat's the difference between Free and Vaultix Pro?

The free version covers individual use: unlimited vault, autofill, 2FA, audit, generator, export and recovery kit.

Vaultix Pro adds:

  • Sync across your devices
  • Family vault to share with your family
  • Emergency access (digital legacy)
  • Travel mode
  • Priority support

There's a 14-day Vaultix Pro free trial — no card required.

GeneralWhy does Vaultix need biometrics or camera access?
  • Biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint): unlock the vault without typing the PIN every time. Optional, can be disabled in Settings.
  • Camera: only for scanning 2FA QR codes when adding a TOTP item. The camera never activates without you explicitly requesting it.

Vaultix never asks for contacts, location, calendar, microphone or network access without explicit consent in each case.
